Directions to downtown Santa Rosa During Hwy 101 Widening (until 10/06)
Please Note:
Beginning Thursday, June 15th the downtown Santa Rosa exit (Third Street off-ramp from northbound Hwy. 101), with access to downtown Santa Rosa will be closed as part of the Highway 101 widening project. The exit is expected to remain closed until mid-October 2006. Motorists will not be able to access downtown Santa Rosa from this regular downtown off-ramp. Don't get detoured by detours-Instead, use the following alternative routes to visit your favorite downtown desinations : (For Hwy 101 construction details, visit www.SantaRosaTraffic.com)
To reach Historic Railroad Square:
- exit HWY 12 westbound toward Sebastopol to Dutton, then turn right on 3rd Street and continue to Railroad Square.
- exit at College Ave, go left under Highway, take a left on Cleveland Ave (which turns into Wilson St., continue on to Railroad Square.)
To reach Courthouse Square and the Santa Rosa Plaza:
- exit at College, turn right onto College. From College, turn right on Mendocino Ave, continue on to downtown Courthouse Square district.
- or exit onto Hwy 12: eastbound toward Sonoma, then exit at E Street . Turn left on E street and continue on to downtown Courthouse Square

Heading Northbound on 101
Take College Avenue exit
Turn right on College Avenue
Turn right on Morgan Street At four-way stop, turn left on Ninth Street, which will eventually become A Street
Continue straight through two stop signs, then make a left turn into Santa Rosa Plaza parking garage (near Macy's)
Heading Southbound on 101
Take College Avenue exit
Turn left on College Avenue
Turn right on Morgan Street
At four-way stop, turn left on Ninth Street, which will eventually become A Street

Normal Route to downtown (post 10/06):
The following directions are the 'usual' passages to downtown when the Highway 101 downtown Thrid Street off ramp is fully operational.
From San Francisco:
Take US-101 N toward 19th Ave./Golden Gate Bridge and continue north for 51 miles until you reach the Downtown Santa Rosa exit.
From Sacramento:
Take I-80 W 48 miles to CA-37 W toward San Rafael and continue on for about 20.5 miles until you reach US-101 N toward Santa Rosa/Eureka. Take US-101 N 28 miles until you reach the Downtown Santa Rosa exit.
From Sonoma:
Take Sonoma HWY (12 W) 19 miles until it runs into 4th Street/Downtown Santa Rosa.
From the East Bay:
Take I-580 W toward Richmond/Sacramento and continue across the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge for about 13 miles until you reach US-101 N. Continue north for about 37 miles until you reach the Downtown Santa Rosa exit.
From Mendocino:
Take CA-1 S for 10 miles until you reach CA-28. Continue on CA-28 for 55 miles and make a left at N Cloverdale Blvd. After .6 miles turn right onto the CA-128 E/US-101 S ramp toward San Francisco. Take US-101 S 32 miles until you reach the College Avenue exit in Santa Rosa.
